3 Ninjas: Kick Back

It was really difficult to push through and watch this next movie. And we are only on move #2. As awesome as these movies were when we were younger, they are really horrible now. We just got done watching 3 Ninjas: Kick Back. In this continuation of the epic saga, we follow the boys to Japan as they try and help Grandpa. Grandpa goes to deliver a a dagger to a ninja competition and some old rival tries to steal it from him.  Then because the bags got mixed up at the airport, the boys decide to put their super important baseball game aside and go to Japan to help their Grandpa, who is now in the hospital. Along the way we have a cliche limo ride where they see the sights of Tokyo. Then they get to the ninja competition and Colt decides its okay to go ahead and fight in the finals in the place of some other ninja who worked really hard to get there. Well, he gets beaten. BY A GIRL! She's super nice and Rocky falls in love. Rocky love Emily turns into Rocky love Miyo. This is solidified when they are reading English/Japanese to each other and they are both wearing huge nerd glasses that they feel self conscious in.

Also as I kind of mentioned in the last blog, there are different people playing TumTum and Rocky. Rocky is still a heartthrob with super blue eyes and poofy brown hair. Whereas Tum Tum is extremely short, and constantly has food in his mouth. Just like Ron Weasley! The writers also were attempting to give TumTum some catchphrases like "Let's murderlize 'em!" and "Scramble!!!!". I don't think they caught on.

After some super cool ninja lessons being traded for baseball lessons, the boys are as good as they will ever be in their ninja training. Then they go on an adventure with Grandpa and his nemesis to find a Cave of Gold. Well they find it, and after the bad guy does something bad (say what!?) Colt is so skilled that he throws a little metal ninja ball into the barrel of a gun. Everyone learns their lesson, and they return just in time for their baseball game, where they beat the other team and Colt does an impressive gymnastics floor routine to home plate.

The goons are even more awful in this movie, but there was one particular moment that always stuck with me. One goon is singing "Where's my fish? Where's my fish" in the middle of a forest. I distinctly remember my sisters and I mimicking this a lot when we were little.

I always loved the storyline in this movie. I thought it was just so fantastic as they traveled to an exotic country. The acting is just a lot worse. But the stunts are pretty good. And their is a girl ninja. Woo!

Andrew's Closing Thoughts: I can't wait for us to be done with 3 Ninja's movies.

Up Next: 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up!
