3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up!

We continue on with our 3 Ninja's marathon today. This movie takes us to the boys spending their summer with Grandpa, who apparently lives nearby a huge Native American population that we never knew about before. An evil guy is trying to keep their land as a landfill, even though the Nation knows that the land has lots of dangerous chemicals which would prevent it from being a landfill. The entire plot of the movie is to try and get to a hearing where a disk with this proof can be displayed to the right authorities.  There are many many obstacles to get to the this point including: finding the kidnapped man with the disk, getting the disk from a destructive conveyor belt, beating up grown men at a pizza parlor who are physically assaulting a tiny little girl, and saving the girl (Joe) after she gets kidnapped just prior to the hearing.

This is probably the deepest movie out of all the 3 ninjas, as it makes a huge statement on how the land equals life and that we must treat it right, and listen to the flowers. Also the boys are fighting not for personal glory or against any personal struggle, but are fighting for a good cause, and learn to be humble after saving the day.

Knuckle Up also has something none of the others do. A spontaneous choreographed dance that everyone seems to know! After the boys are accepted as members of the tribe, Colt and Rocky decide to start up the party with an awesome dance that includes elements of Ninja, tribal dances, and 90's hip hop. Priceless.

I couldn't help but noticing that Rocky looked a lot like Jonathan Taylor Thomas in this movie, now that he's a little older. There was definitely a little bit of a love triangle in this movie as Rocky and Colt both seemed to kind of have crushes on Joe, the girl they were constantly saving. I think she would have ended up with Colt, but as far as we know they never see each other again.

Andrew's Closing Thoughts: We're almost done!

  1. That's deep Brenna. I never even thought about the fact that we need to quote "treat the earth right, and listen to the flowers". I'll be sure to do that next time I'm within hearing range of flowers.

I had no idea there was a 3 Ninjas 4???? KL
