AVP: Alien Vs. Predator

Well we decided to just do a double feature tonight and followed up Alien, with AVP. Now, I actually enjoyed this one a lot more than I did with Alien. There was more of a plot to it (even if it's still not a good plot) and I just was able to understand a lot more of it.

Our heroine Alexa is a super good scientific guide, and so Weyland Corp hires her to guide them to an underground pyramid in Antarctica. Well the Predators are planning on visiting right at the same time unbeknownst to the humans. She and some other really nice archeologists join up with the corporate/military goons who of course go against what the commands of the mission are, but are focused on personal gain. Spoiler alert, they die. Well, the humans awaken the pyramid and Queen Alien starts making some alien eggs, and so then Aliens start running rampant and snatching humans up for breeding. The predators don't like this and so they kill lots of aliens and even all the humans that weren't snatched up by Aliens. Except for Alexa. She and her comrade Sebastian are the only two left, and they finally learn the history of the pyramid and discover that the Predator just wants his gun back, which is conveniently located in Alexa's backpack. Well Sebastian gets taken by an Alien and Alexa is not happy. After she gives the big bad Predator his gun back, they become instant BFF's, especially after they kill an Alien together. She even gets marked with sign of a Predator Warrior. They go back and find the nest and Sebastian is just about to explode a baby Alien. Well Alexa feels like its her duty to kill him, which makes the Predator respect her even more. They blow up the whole pyramid and run really fast, but the Queen Alien catches up with them on the surface, and after a big fight Alexa drowns it in the freezing Arctic Ocean. Sadly the Predator dies, and a Predator King rewards Alexa with her bravery and friendship with the fallen soldier. Meaning he doesn't kill her. Then the big shocker at the end, at the dead Predator's funeral on his spaceship, a alien/predator hybrid pops out of his tummy! Lead up for a sequel we thankfully don't own.

I liked this movie. There were lots of action sequences, and I was on the edge of my seat most of the time.

Andrew's Closing Thought: I want to befriend a galactic hunter
