Alright, I know that this is suppose to be one of the greatest movies ever in cinematic history, but I just don't see it. I knew nothing about this movie except for the fact that there is Sigourney Weaver and an alien that pops out of a person. ( I only first learned of the last one because of Spaceballs). According to the critics this is the baby if Jaws and Star Wars decided to shack up. I do see how back in the day it was pretty scary.
This chronicles a commercial towing spaceship that's on its way back from it's job and its' ship goes crazy and puts them off schedule. In this cast we have Sigourney Weaver, Bilbo Baggins, and Ollivander. And like 3 other people that we don't really care about. And a cat! Well they decide to go and explore the planet the the "Mother" ship is leading them to. There they find a space jockey (apparently a common term to Andrew), that has been dead. Well Ollivander decides to be really dumb and go explore and look at some alien eggs, and then goes to touch one. Well the thing attacks him. Throughout the movie Sigourney is the voice of reason and I just wish people would have listened to her, except there wouldn't be a movie if they did. Anyway, Bilbo disregards her orders and lets the contaminated spacewalkers back onto the ship.
The facehugger stays on Ollivander for a while, while making a baby alien in his stomach.

Then we are honored with one of the greatest moments of film history, when this alien pops out of his stomach. His castmates had no idea what was going to happen only that something was going to pop out of him. So all of their emotions are totally real. That was pretty cool. Well Bilbo protects the alien the entire time because he is secretly a robot put on the ship from the company that payed for the mission because they wanted to research the alien. Well everybody dies except Sigourney, and she and the cat make it safely home even after the alien stows aboard her escape pod and she throws the alien out in space.
As I said earlier, this movie wasn't my favorite. It was really long and boring during most of the movie. I also noticed that there was a lot of silence throughout the movie. It makes sense since it was in space, and in space "no one can hear you scream".
Andrew's Closing Thought: "Sticks his tongue out and waves it around" Not as scary as I remember, but still good.
Up Next: Alien vs. Predator
Thanks Brenna, I've never seen Alien and now I don't have to. Also, after reading this, I'm kind of thinking "isn't that 100% the exact plot and the exact same characters as prometheus???" i know it is supposed to be the prequel, but from an outsiders perspective sounds identical
