The Beginning
My husband Andrew and I have always been really into movies. Even before we were dating, that was what we did every weekend. Once we were engaged, we started getting really excited about combining our movie collections. His consists of mainly classics and boy movies, but also movies that I like as well, like superhero movies and epic dramas. Mine consists of girly chick flicks and musicals. Not Andrew's favorite. But we decided that after we got married (July 21 2012!!) we would then start watching our entire combined collection in alphabetical order. This is super fun because we will end up having such a random line up of movies. For instance, at some point we will go from Shaun of the Dead, to Shawshank Redemption, to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Now, there are some official rules that we have decided upon to make this a super legit experience, and they will be documented here for you all to see.
Official Rules:
1. There are no vetos. Even if you have seen the movie before and know you don't like it.
2. If you come across a series but they have different lettered titles (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) you must watch the whole series before moving on to the next movie.
3. This ongoing movie marathon applies to only movies, no tv series or weird dvd specials/ home videos.
4. When we get new movies, and have already passed it's point alphabetically in the collection then we must watch it as soon as possible. However, if Andrew and I both agree that a movie was given to us just to keep us stuck on one part of the alphabet, therefore preventing us from completing our quest, then we don't have to watch it. (We both agreed that it would be very probable that our friends would keep buying us crappy movies like megashark vs crocagator, megashark vs. jumbo octopus just to keep us stuck.)
5. It doesn't matter if we aren't in the mood to watch a particular movie. We must stick with the plan!
6. All Christmas movies will be put on hold until Christmastime, which we will then watch those in their alphabetical order
I hope you will enjoy following us as we go through this movie adventure . I know I'm going to have lots of fun writing it. Right now we have 400 movies to watch.
